Brides opting for coral this season
Whether it's in make-up or clothing, this hue- a mix between orange and red seems to have found favour with bridal parties
Of course, we can't do without our LBDs. And black seems to be the most preferred colour for any outing, be it formal or casual. If not black, then white, gold or red are frequently worn during festive seasons. However, coral seems to be giving these colours a run for their money. From party and wedding wear to formals and casuals, everyone's sporting this unique hue this season.
With the wedding season approaching, more and more brides are choosing coral over the typical red, maroon and pink for their D-day. Fashion designer Renu Chopra says, "Coral is the new black these days. Not just clothing, but a huge chunk of accessories are inspired by this colour. In fact, the best part about this colour is that it has several variants. One just needs to match the right degree of coral with their outfit and complexion and they are bound to make a statement."
Similarly, coral has an amazing quality of making any other colour look good - it can brighten up a normal white or black dress. She adds, "A simple coral belt with a white dress or under a black shirt will do the trick. In fact, coral shaded accessories like bracelets, necklaces and danglers can make any simple outfit stand out." Coral shaded accessories are available in abundance in local markets. The range starts from as low as Rs. 150. In fact not just accessories, coral shaded make-up is also getting popular.
Make-up artiste Sheetal J says that coral looks good on any skin tone. "Foundations in various degrees of coral are available in the market --- they give a soft blush to the skin, rather than making it look monotonously white. Similarly, coral lipsticks and nail paints go well with anything and everything. One needs to just make sure that they are matte textured lipsticks and nail paints, since coral looks better without the shine," adds Sheetal.
In fact, a lot of celebrities are seen sporting coral nail paints on a regular basis, since in spite of it being a subtle colour, it brightens up any look. "In spite of having a dusky skin tone, I feel coral-shaded accessories go well on me. The reason being, the colour brightens up any look, it's a compliment and not an accompaniment," feels college student Giselle Pinto. If you cannot include coral anywhere in your outfit or make-up, a coral clutch or bag can make all the difference
