Bekal fort

Bekal fort, the largest and the best-preserved fort in Kerala, lies round 16 kms south of Kasaragod on the national highway at the northern tip of the state. Believed to have been built by Sivappa Nai- Kottanchery Hill The exotic rain forest, Kottanchery is located in the scenic village of Konnakad, 30kms north-east of  Kanhangad. This outstanding picnic spot, ideal for trekking is a part of the Western Ghats and it  Chandragiri Fort Situated at a distance of 4kms south east of Kasargod near the confluence of the Payaswini (Chandragiri) river and the Arabian sea is the Chandragiri village, renowned for the fort in its name, atop a- BELLIKOTH Another centre in Ajanoor village renowned as the birth place of Poet P.Kunhiraman Nair, veteran freedom fighter and playright Vidwan P.Kelu Nair and Rasika siromani Kanan Nair. A cultural centre ANANDASHRAM & NITYANANDASRAMAM Anandashramam, situated about five kms. east of the Kanhangad Railway Station, was founded in 1939 by Swami Ramadas, a great Vaishnava saint of modern times. The main asramam and other buildings have Maipady palace Maipady palace is about 8kms from Kasargod town on Kasargod-Perla road. It was once the seat of the Kumbla Rajas. VALIYAPARAMBA 5 KMs south west of Cheruvathur separated from the mainland by back waters. One of the main tourist spots of the District. This is an island in the Arabian Sea. An ideal place for picnic also a fishin- BELA CHURCH Bela Catholic Parish is one of the ancient parishes of the Diocese of Mangalore. It is situated in Kasargod District, around 50 KMs away from Mangalore. This is the oldest parish in the Kasargod--- AJANOOR Madiyan Kulom temple The famous Madiyan Kulom temple is situated in Ajanur village. It is about five kms. from Kanhangad, the headquarters of Hosdurg taluk. The main deity of the temple is Bhadrakali; but there are also  Kannur Tourism -- Have to visit Muzhappilangad Drive-in Beach A long clean beach, its enchanting ambiance invites you to swim, sunbathe or just lounge around. It is Kerala’s only drive-in beach. It is situated about 5 km north of Thalassery and 15 km from Kannur- Ezhimala hills The Ezhimala hills, renowned for rare medicinal herbs with mythological significance, is around 55 km from Kannur. Bordered by the sea on three sides, it is located at an altitude of 286m above sea le- Pythal Mala (65 kms. from Kannur Town ): This enchanting hill station ,situated 4,500 ft. above sea level near the Kerala - Karnataka border ,is rich in flora and fauna. It is a 6 km trek to the top of the hills Mopilla bay Moppila Bay is a natural fishing harbour, lying near Fort St. Angelos. A sea wall projecting from the fort separates the rough sea and inland water. The bay was famous during the Kolathiris\' regime a Meenkunnu Beach Situated at Azhikode, it is a few kilometers from the town. The virgin beach is a tourist’s paradise with golden sand and surf. Anjarakandy Anjarakandy, a village well-known for its Cinnamon estate, lies 19kms south east of Kannur.
